What Is a Kite Trip?

A kite trip is a travel experience built entirely around kitesurfing — usually lasting between 4 to 7 days and involving daily sessions on the water.

At PLAY Los Roques, this might mean:

  • Kite clinics for beginners who want to learn from scratch

  • Advanced safaris from island to island for experienced riders

  • A mix of coaching, exploring, and community — all powered by wind

Think of it as surf trip meets tropical adventure, with a full support team (boats, instructors, logistics) so all you have to do is ride.

Why Los Roques Is Kite Trip Heaven

Los Roques is unlike anywhere else in the Caribbean. It’s made up of over 200+ cays and islands, creating an ideal playground for kiters of all levels.

Here’s what makes it so special:

  • Steady wind from January to June — one of the most reliable wind seasons in the region

  • Perfect shallow-water spots for learning

  • Epic kite safaris: start on one island, ride for 1 to 3 hours, and finish on another where a beach picnic awaits

  • Uncrowded space: thanks to the sheer size of the archipelago, you can ride for hours without seeing another kite

  • Mind-blowing scenery: crystal-clear water, white sand, and vibrant marine life

Whether you're into freestyle, downwinders, or just want to cruise, there’s a perfect spot for you.
